Co-published by Lee Krasner and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1967 O'Connor & Thaw catalogue raisonné #1082Please note: the full sheet size is 19 3/4 x 27 1/4 inches.Between 1944 and 1945, Jackson Pollock produced a series of eleven engravings. Created intermittently over several months at Atelier 17 in New York, these works reflect Pollock's engagement with experimental approaches to printmaking. Pollock's engravings remained largely unknown during his lifetime and were never publicly exhibited. A decade after the artist's death, his widow Lee Krasner discovered the prints, together with nine of the eleven original plates, in Pollock's barn studio. Recognizing their significance within the artist's oeuvre, she donated the group to the Museum of Modern Art in 1969.
