PROVENANCE

Alfred Pellan’s Polychromées drawings were presented at the tribute event Voir Pellan, organized in 1969 at the Musée d’art contemporain for the premiere of a documentary film on the artist. The event took the form of a “happening” with a costumed public and multicoloured slides projected onto dancers dressed in white against black surroundings. This series of prints is inspired by drawings executed during this event.

We thank Eve-Lyne Beaudry and Marie-Hélène Métivier for the contributing the original French essay.
