Beatrice Vallee's description regarding the history of this work: " The work was painted south east of Calgary in an area close to the small town of Blackie. During the late 1960s, Armand did a full sketchbook from the delightful old homestead, he returned many times - producing wonderful large oils and many watercolours. The homestead is not visible from the highway (#23), Armand had walked miles when he suddenly ran into the place, long since abandoned. No one in the town of Blackie seemed to know to whom it once belonged. One farmer and his son told us in the 80's when Arman painted there again… "Oh that farm… I have long forgotten about that…" That's how it became The Long Forgotten Farm."
