David Burnett comments: “The settings are simple, details reduced to a minimum, and the emphasis on the close relationship between the figures draws us into that atmosphere of intimacy.” The figures are Colville and his wife Rhoda, and this scene expresses the warmth, balance and security present in that relationship.
