Richard Roblin
Richard Roblin
1940 - 2022
Born in Saskatchewan in 1940, Richard Roblin was inspired by the prairie sky from an early age. As a child, Roblin developed a passion for drawing and spent time sketching outdoors. His love of drawing and painting received early recognition when, at the age of 21, his work was acquired by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. His journey as an artist has taken him on travels through North America, Europe and Asia, where he absorbed the teachings of many cultures.
Roblin’s painting process begins with the line of shape - everything emerges from that primary impulse. He is inspired by the world beyond form, expressed through the language of abstraction. His passion for creative activity extends not only through his practice of sculpture and painting, but also through architecture and design.
Roblin’s works are exhibited and collected widely through commercial galleries and museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
