LITERATURE
William Kuhns and Léo Rosshandler, Sam Borenstein, 1978, the related 1942 canvas entitled Ste. Marguerite Station reproduced page 91
Sainte-Marguerite Station is located in the Laurentians, a region beloved by Sam Borenstein. In the early 1940s, he began to travel there frequently, painting rural villages and landscapes. The quaint station, approaching train and delicate winter palette make this piece a charming example of his earlier work.
