Robert C.S. Heffel
Robert Heffel received a BA in Art History from the University of British Columbia in 1987. While at UBC, Robert worked for his father at Kenneth G. Heffel Fine Art, founded in 1978. In 1987, Kenneth Heffel passed away and Robert, with his brother David, took over the operation of the Gallery.
Robert has been pivotal in the many successful business developments at Heffel. In 1995, David and Robert established Heffel Fine Art Auction House, a division of Heffel Gallery. By the fall of 2004, Heffel had become Canada's national auction house with offices across Canada in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Today, Heffel has sold more Canadian art than any other auctioneer worldwide, with over $590 million in art auction sales since 1995 and is proud to have conducted the most valuable live auctions of Canadian art. In addition to the live auctions, Heffel was the pioneer in online auctions in Canada in 1999, and has since set numerous Canadian and International records through the online venue.
Robert is an expert auctioneer who has conducted various charity auctions in support of the arts community as well as conducting Heffel's multi-million dollar live auctions of Canadian art.
