Notes on Material
Comments on Condition
Good impression, and the greys and blues are still mostly intact. The margins have been trimmed, there is some wear and yellowed scuffing along all four edges, possible scuffing on upper section of the sky area. The reverse with glue and old paper residue along all four edges, a larger piece of tape residue on the left side, bottom right area with ’45’ written in Kanji, and in pencil E.108.11 in between two red pencil markings. April 25, 2022: Please note that the margins have been trimmed, and trimmed margins are typical for the majority of existing versions of the Great Wave. The precise measurements are - bottom edge 37.1 cm, left edge, 24.1 cm, top edge 37.3 cm, right edge 24.0 cm.
