Acquired in Vancouver by a Private Collection, Vancouver, 1970s
Of upright rectangular section and standing on four brass mounted legs, each door superbly decorated with a continuous multi-coloured hardstone inlaid and gilt painted scene of scholars and attendants in a large outdoor gathering, with a teahouse in the background, the bottom board with two large-fu-lions on a flame background, the border of the cabinet with large cartouches containing mother-of-pearl archaistic dragons on a coin diaper ground, the sides with large floral medallions. The interior lacquered red and contains a moveable shelf and hidden compartment. Brass hinges and lock.
