Collection of the Honourable Jack Austin, Vancouver
Each a tinted steel engraving. Four after illustrations by Thomas Allom (1804-1872) originally published in 'China Illustrated' (1845) including 'Apartment in a Mandarin's House, near Nanking', 'Jugglers exhibiting in the Court of a Mandarin's Palace', 'Ladies of a Mandarin's Family at Cards', and 'Ceremony of "Meeting the Spring"'. The fifth view engraved by Samuel Fisher (active 1830-1855) and titled 'Macao from the Forts of Heang-shan'. Each mounted to a hard card matte measuring 10 1/2 x 12 inches.
